Continuous Broadcasting During Filming of ‘Celebrity Love
Island’
Melbourne – Aggreko is global

it has recently completed a contract with leading television
broadcaster, Granada to supply a temporary power and temperature
control package during filming of the television series ‘Celebrity
Love Island’. Aggreko supplies power and temperature control
package to Granada during filming of ‘Celebrity Love Island’.
Filmed at Fiji’s Bounty Island
Resort, Aggreko supplied power for lighting, broadcasting
and cameras, audio, technical purposes.
Reliable power
supply from Aggreko ensured continuous 24 hour a day live
broadcasting.
Temperature control package was
used to cool the various site offices, technical building,
celebrity villa and staff accommodation and amenities. Aggreko
supplied over 1 MW of power with built in redundancy to ensure a
continuous flow of electricity to the critical equipment used
during filming, editing and broadcasting. The temperature control

Kingdom, ‘Celebrity Love Island’ featured a group of 12 gorgeous
celebrity singletons thrown together on a fantasy island for five
weeks in a star studded quest for love – and the chance to win a
prize.
“We air freighted more than 6 x
40ft containers of our equipment from Sydney to Nadi in Fiji” said
Aggreko Events Services Manager, David Dunn. “It was then shipped
on a 600 tonne barge to Bounty Island, where it was unloaded by 30
tonne excavators and strategically placed around the tiny
island”.
“Filming took place for a little
over five weeks with live broadcasting 24 hours a day” said Helen
Bratt, Production Manager for ‘Celebrity Love Island’ “To ensure
the programme is broadcast continuously, a steady and reliable
power supply to operate broadcasting equipment is extremely
critical, and, with thanks to Aggreko, we did not suffer any
transmission losses during filming”.
Six female celebrities participated
in the series included former EastEnders star, JUDI SKEKONI, David
Beckham’s one-time personal assistant, REBECCA LOOS, Atomic Kitten,
LIZ MCCLARNON, and, female winner of the series, TV Presenter,
JAYNE MIDDLEMISS. From the boy’s team, participating celebrities
included former EastEnders star, MICHAEL GRECO, ex-England and
Manchester United stat, LEE SHARPE, British sprinter, DU’AINE
LADEJO, and male winner of the series, nightclub owner, FRAN
CONSGRAVE.
