Aggreko powers Zayed Sports City for
the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi

- Aggreko, the world leader in the provision of temporary
power and temperature control services, will supply over 10 MW of
power to Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, which is one of the venues
for the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2009, being played from the
9th to 19th of December. Aggreko will
provide power to the fan zone, the VIP areas and the International
Broadcast Centre (IBC), which will allow millions of fans around
the world to tune in and watch the tournament over the 10 days. The
43,000 capacity stadium at Zayed Sports City will play host to
teams such as FC Barcelona, Club Estudiantes de la Plata and
Auckland City FC, with the final match being played on December 19.
The contract was awarded to Aggreko following a competitive tender
process involving many local suppliers.

becoming a hub for sporting events on this scale and having a good
quality power supply is imperative, especially for the
International Broadcasting Centre, when millions of viewers will be
watching the tournament.”

City, Sydney and Turin, as well as other major sporting events such
as the Football, Rugby and Cricket World Cups, and many golf
championships.
